The Historical background of the jewel

The Trade Association has been founded in 1873 by craftsmen of "imitation jewelry" who were later joined by fancy silverware manufacturers in 1931.

Since 1930 on, BOCI leaders no longer wishing to exhibit in the annual Paris Show, had created the first Jewelry Trade Fair for professionals only: BIJORHCA was born.

BOCI organized this event until September 1996 at which time the business was sold to the Miller Freeman firm and a trademark license agreement for BIJORHCA was signed.

In 1945, the jewel trade, gold jewelry makers, watchmakers, gift makers, and silversmith joined BOCI.

Nowadays the Association represents more than 150 manufacturers divided into six groups: Fashion Jewelry; Precious-metal Jewelry; Pewterware, Silversmith-Decorative Gifts and Objects, Sub-contractors and Suppliers.

Its vocation is the study and the defense of the interests of its members and it is at their service to provide information, assist them, and offer them services and initiatives.
